scenario work.
Genre: psychological thriller? Dystopia?
Technical features: Dark lighting and dull colour to go with the semi-dystopian feel.
Mostly slow pace of editing, little fast paced action etc
Lots of close/ medium cinematography to put the audience into the situation
All elements used for realism.
Diegetic sound mostly
Opening sequence, character hasn’t realised what’s happened.
Only has lead as they go through their morning routine, they notice no WiFi but just think it’s just broken.
Filmed with mostly mid shots, some close ups such as phone with WiFi signal down etc
The audience is positioned as observers to the action but close to it, perhaps use …..
Introduces the character while introducing the main issue of the film as a secondary thing by giving hints in the mise-en-scene and events but most of the focus is on the character/their morning routine.
Only diegetic sound for this scene – natural/realistic.

This was some initial work looking at coming up with my own idea for a screen play
looking at various scenarios, although I didn't end up using one of the scenarios I did
take some inspiration from the idea of a sudden change to routine suggested in
scenario 2.
feedback received: "Nice idea for a scene which sets up the character for the rest of the film. good thoughts on camera and sound.
I like that you have a clear idea of what the scenario is, what film techniques you would use and how realist/naturalist you want it to be - good ideas for this practice piece."
personally and from this response I think it might be worth writing more of the screenplay for this film, or a different one, to see how I can develop a narrative and practise dialogue heavy/conversation scenes with multiple characters.it might also be worth doing a story board to practice this (maybe of same scene)
